The effect of the modifier concentration and flow rate on the chromatographic performance of a second generation Chromolith® RP-18e column, under isocratic and gradient elution with acetonitrile-water mixtures, was examined using four sulphonamides as probe compounds. Fuzzy fault tree analyses were used to investigate accident scenarios that involve radiological exposure to operators working in industrial γ-ray irradiation facilities. The HEART method, a first generation human reliability analysis method, was used to evaluate the probability of adverse human error in these analyses. When does family involvement produce superior performance in SME family business?

Abstract This study analyzes how family involvement leads to high performance in SME-family businesses (SME-FB). This research considers family involvement in management and firm governance, development of family governance, firm size, generations in FB, and ownership concentration. Results show three combinations that lead to high performance: 1) a large-enough SME-FB with a family CEO and a board with significant presence of non-family directors; 2) a large-enough SME-FB in its first generation, without family government structures, and that a non-familial top managerial team runs; 3) a large-enough SME-FB with low ownership concentration and family governance structures.

A Study of the Nuclear Structure at High Energy and Low Spin

A novel method to study nuclear structure at low spin as a function of temperature is developed and used on 146,148Sm, 154,156Gd and 160,162Dy, by means of the (3He, α) reaction. The nuclear level density for a wide energy range is also studied. The γ-multiplicities and the first generation γ-ray spectra indicate a structure change in deformed nuclei at about 6 MeV.
